The Salem Center will host Professor Glenn C. Loury during Free Speech Week to discuss the role of Universities in America’s current social unrest over racial inequality.

Glenn C. Loury is the Merton P. Stoltz Professor of the Social Sciences and Professor of Economics at Brown University.  He has been a critic of how Universities have handled the recent social events, in particular how the institutions have come to expect uniformity in the scholarship and actions by their faculty. We will discuss Loury’s views on this topic as well as his research on the economics of race and inequality.

Professor Loury has published mainly in the areas of applied microeconomic theory, game theory, industrial organization, natural resource economics.

The discussion will take place on October 21 at 12 PM CT.
